From Idea to Launch-Ready MVP: A Live Reveal Platform Designed and Built End to End

Incredible Visibility is the end-to-end design and development partner behind Ohhyeah, a countdown-based live events platform founded in Australia. From first concept to store-ready builds, we designed and engineered the full product: iOS and Android apps, the real-time backend, and the release pipeline behind them.

Overview

Ohhyeah is "the block party for announcements", a mobile platform that turns any announcement into a shared live moment. Instead of posting into the noise of social feeds, brands, artists, festivals, and sports teams schedule a countdown to a reveal. Fans discover the event, set reminders, and show up at the exact reveal moment, where everyone unlocks the announcement together, surrounded by live chat, trivia games, and giveaways that reward being present.

The countdown builds anticipation, the reveal creates a synchronized crowd, and the live layer keeps the community buzzing. Ohhyeah complements existing social channels rather than replacing them: creators still share everywhere, but the moment itself happens in one place, live, with their community.

The Challenge

Ohhyeah's core promise, thousands of fans unlocking the same moment at the same second, is exactly the kind of workload that breaks naive architectures. Everything interesting happens in a spike: presence surges as fans pour in, chat floods, trivia answers land simultaneously, and a giveaway draw must fairly capture every user present at zero.

Off-the-shelf event or community tools don't handle synchronized reveals, attendance-based prize draws, or real-time moderation under that shape of load. The founder needed a partner who could own the whole journey, product thinking, design, architecture, native apps, backend, and release operations, and deliver an MVP robust enough to stand up to real crowds from day one.

Our Approach

We ran the engagement as full product partners rather than a build-to-spec shop. Discovery started with the moment itself: what has to be true at T-zero for a reveal to feel magical and be provably fair? That framing drove the architecture. We chose a serverless Google Cloud + Firebase stack so a pre-launch product carries minimal idle infrastructure cost yet absorbs launch-day spikes. All fairness-critical logic, the reveal flip, giveaway draws, and trivia scoring, runs server-side on scheduled jobs, so no client stampede can affect an outcome.

We kept fully separated development and production environments with a scripted release pipeline (EAS cloud builds, over-the-air updates, pre-submit validation) so shipping stays safe while the product iterates quickly. And rather than assert scalability, we proved it: scripted load tests at 1,000 simultaneous users to date, with larger runs underway as the platform builds toward launch. Throughout, we worked directly with the founder, translating product intuition into shippable scope.

What We Built

The Countdown & Reveal Experience

Signature 3D animated "casings" hold the mystery content while the countdown runs. At zero, every viewer's casing opens in a synchronized reveal animation, and the content plays full-screen. This is the product's magic moment, designed and performance-tuned with React Native Reanimated.

The Live Event Layer

Real-time presence with live and peak viewer counts, plus an expandable live chat with owner tools for pinning, deleting, and blocking. Chat safety is handled by an automated moderation layer, OpenAI's moderation models screen messages in real time. This is the app's only use of AI. The live layer is what turns a countdown into a crowd.

Trivia & Giveaway Engine

Server-scored timed trivia with leaderboards, and giveaways where simply being present at the reveal enters you in the draw. Winner selection is fully server-side and load-tested to capture 100% of 1,000 simultaneous participants. Fairness is provable, not assumed.

Brand Publishing Tools

A complete creator side: brand accounts with multi-brand switching, a guided event creation flow with casing selection and live preview, dashboards for events, trivia and promos, and one-tap share links that deep-link straight into the app.

Release & Ops Infrastructure

Dual dev/prod environments, EAS cloud builds with automated config switching, over-the-air updates, push notification pipelines, analytics and crash reporting — the operational backbone a small team needs to run a live platform.

The Impact

The engagement took Ohhyeah from an idea to a complete, tested product, a working platform the founder can now put in front of partners and early communities.

  • Full MVP delivered across iOS and Android, including discovery, live events, chat, trivia, giveaways, and brand publishing tools
  • Load-tested at 1,000 concurrent users to date, with zero failed submissions and 100% giveaway draw capture, with larger-scale runs in progress
  • Store-ready builds shipping through TestFlight, with an automated release pipeline and over-the-air updates

Every screen, cloud function, and pipeline in the product was designed, built, and tested by Incredible Visibility as the client's sole design and engineering partner.

Industry Relevance

Ohhyeah shows what we bring to startup-stage consumer products: taking a founder's vision from zero to a real-time, spike-tolerant mobile platform without a big-company budget. The hard problems here, synchronized live moments, presence at scale, provably fair prize draws, and automated chat moderation, apply directly to social, events, ticketing, and creator-economy products. One partner covered product, design, native apps, serverless backend, and release operations end to end.
